The only thing stopping you from being awesome is you. The good news is that everyone starts at the bottom. There is opportunity for those who work, show diligence, and discipline. Self-mastery is a must and smashing through failures is a requirement. I trust you can do it.

Principle One: Get Up 2 Hours Before You Go To Work

Get up and start reading. Henry Ward Beecher said the first hour is the rudder of the day. Invest your first hour into yourself. Get a book and start reading. Choose books on personal finance, your industry, marketing, and self-improvement. Read for 60 minutes. That averages one book per week or 52 books per year.

How far could you go in your business if you read and implemented all that you learned? In 5 years you will be a national authority. People will come to you because of your expertise. You will be considered at the top of your field and your bank account will prove it.

Invest that second hour with visualization, prayer, and meditation. Make your intentions for the day and set your priorities. Know where you want to go for that day. Take care of high tasks first. Delegate what you can so you can stay effective.

Principle Two: Rewrite Your Goals Everyday

In that first two hours before you get to work take out a notebook and write your goals out every day. Before you go to bed write out your goals again. Magically things happen when you write things down.

Write your goals in the present tense as if they already happened. Put emotion in it so you can feel it in your body. Make sure you have a deadline for each of your goals. Make them specific and measurable. Use “I am” with every goal. Here are some examples:

  • “By December 31, I am excitedly earning $2000 per day in my business.”
  • “By November 30, I weigh 178 lbs.”
  • “By April 30th, I am debt free.”

Writing your goals down brings them into reality. Your mind will find a way to accomplish your goals.

Before the week begins plan out every day. What needs to be accomplished? Who do you need to see? How many leads are you going to generate and how many appointments? How many sales? What do you need to do to reach your goals?

Work on Income Producing Activities 70% of the time. Get your top priorities out of the way. Every night plan out your next day. 10 minutes in planning saves an hour of execution. List your tasks and work on the most important ones first. Complete higher-value tasks before you work on lower-value tasks.

Principle Four: Work on One Task at a Time

In this multitasking society, it seems old and slow to do one thing at a time. The truth is your mind can only hold one thought and focus on one thing at a time. Tackle one thing at a time and do it effectively. Your ability to focus and concentrate will double your productivity, performance, and income. Focus on one task at a time.

Principle Five: Travel University

The average entrepreneur travels between 500-1000 hours per year. Use this time to listen to audio training programs. Turn your travel time into learning time. Your car or public transportation is Audio University. This will drive you to the top of your industry.

Principle Six: Ask Yourself These Two Magic Questions

Ask yourself, “What did I do right?” and “What would I do differently?” The first question forces you to recall all the correct things you did. Write this down. The second question forces you to think of different scenarios. It’s like role-playing. How can you improve? What objections came up? You are programming yourself to be better.

Principle Seven: Treat Everyone Like They are the Most Important Person in the World

You build trust by listening, showing gratitude, saying please, and thank you, and keeping your word. You can practice by starting at home. Treat your family like a million-dollar client and it will translate to everyone else.
