Don’t Be The Hare

Sharing is Winning

Hey, do not be the hare. Funny thing about the book The Tortoise and the Hare. Every time I read that book the Tortoise always wins. Slow and steady wins the race. Time can help you or hurt you. It’s based on your perspective. A year from now you wish you would have stuck with one business.

In the world of home business it seems like first movers advantage, pre-launches, and hype-driven systems are all the rage. Spend your money now or lose out on the deal of a lifetime. Get out your credit card, PayPal account, and heck send a money order. Hurry before the price doubles. You only have 30 seconds before this deal disappears forever.

don't be the hare

Being a Hare in your home business will leave you broke and frustrated. You can’t use every idea or every new system. Don’t believe the hype of automated systems. Automated systems require work and if the automated system fails, you fail. Do you want to put your business in someone else’s hands? Your business is a marathon.

It Takes Time

Guess what, it takes time to build a cash-flowing business. Successful entrepreneurs put in the time. How much? That depends on you. There is a learning curve when it comes to email list building, marketing, sales, building funnels, and upsells. An awesome mentor can shorten this curve but there is still a curve.

Learn your business before you start. Due diligence is important. 95% of home business owners quit their business in the first 90 days. Lack of sales, vision, and a plan leads to people quitting. You may find out you don’t like pushing lotions and potions.

Testing your marketing campaigns, capture pages, blog posts, and social media platforms is the key to your list building. So many newbies use the same capture pages as everyone else and wonder why they aren’t getting any sales. Again this is the learning curve.

A Hare doesn’t take the time to build his list, teams, and followers. A hare goes for the quick buck or worse doesn’t even finish what he starts. People don’t follow leaders who keep jumping ship, switching companies or don’t have a vision.

They don’t follow indecisive decision-makers. People will watch your emails, blog posts, and social media postings for months before they decide to join you. If you never finish what you start they will go somewhere else.

It Takes Work

I was shocked too when I discovered that it takes work to make money from home. I hated words like persistence, consistency, self-discipline, and perseverance. They were foreign to me. I looked for the path of least resistance.

The Tortoise had to work to get to the finish line. It took work to run the race. The Hare slept, ate, and procrastinated. The Tortoise kept moving along. He was diligent, persistent, and consistently moved towards the finish line. So shall you in your business. Stick around and harvest the seeds you have planted. You can succeed in any business. But can you stick around long enough to reap success?

Diligence, self-discipline, and consistency will get you your goals. When it comes to quick riches words like patience, productivity, and focus are curses. How dare you tell someone they need to follow up and follow through. People want to do as little as possible and still be rich.

It Takes Focus

It’s your dream and it’s your awesome. Your business is the vehicle that will get you there. Know what you want and go after it. A clear destination is a must. The Tortoise knew where the finish line was. Define your success.

Read the book again. The Tortoise took massive action. He had a plan, started the race, and won. He didn’t worry about the Hare. Stay focused on building your business. The next big thing will be around in 6 months. Stay focused like the Tortoise.
